Bhutan tour packages from Mumbai are land-only holiday itineraries that begin at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) and cover Paro, Thimphu and the Punakha valley, with Bumthang added on longer trips. They suit Mumbai travellers planning a 5 to 7 night Himalayan break, and the clearest weather usually falls from October to December and again from March to May.
For a first Bhutan trip from Mumbai, plan 5 to 7 nights, or 8 to 10 nights if you want Bumthang. Autumn and spring offer the most reliable conditions. June to August brings heavy monsoon rain and possible road closures, while winter is crisp and clear with snow common above 3,000 metres.
Once the flight from Mumbai is counted at both ends, a 5 night trip gives you about three full days on the ground in Bhutan. That is enough for Paro, Thimphu and one night in Punakha without rushing. Keep the first and last day light, since you will be travelling for much of each.

Most Mumbai travellers choose a 5 to 7 night trip for a first visit. The table below shows what each length covers once the journey from Mumbai is counted into the first and last day.
| Trip length | What it covers | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| 4 nights | Paro and Thimphu, with a day for Taktsang | Short leave, first-time visitors |
| 5 to 7 nights | Paro, Thimphu and the Punakha valley | Standard first trip, families and couples |
| 8 to 10 nights | Adds Bumthang and the central valleys | Travellers with longer leave and a slower pace |
A 4 night trip only works if your Mumbai departure lands early enough to reach Paro the same day. Longer trips absorb weather delays on mountain roads more comfortably.
If you have only a long weekend, a 4 night trip still fits, but expect little slack. Any delay on the Mumbai leg or at Paro takes a full day from your sightseeing. Families with children or older travellers often find 6 or 7 nights less tiring than cramming the same places into fewer days.
Your trip starts at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM), Mumbai's main international gateway. From there you fly to Paro International Airport (PBH), the country's main entry point. Gelephu International Airport (GLU) is the other listed airport.
A direct routing keeps the first and last day simple, with one flight out and one flight back. A connecting routing adds a change of aircraft, which usually means an earlier start from Mumbai and a later finish on the return. Check current schedules for direct versus connecting options before you lock in dates.
Because Mumbai is a major international hub, you do not need to travel to another Indian city first. That avoids a domestic leg at the start and end of the trip. For background, see the Bhutan travel guide.
Land-only packages start at Rs.21,500 per person, indicative and subject to change. That figure covers ground arrangements in Bhutan, not your flights from Mumbai.
Flights from Mumbai are priced separately and move with the date, the season and how early you book. Return fares are indicative only, so confirm at booking. Peak months of September, October and November cost more than January, February or December. For a full breakdown, read the Bhutan trip cost guide.
Ask for the land package and the flight as two separate quotes. That lets you see exactly what each part costs and whether a different departure date from Mumbai brings the total down.
A late arrival into Paro and an early departure back to Mumbai both cut into the first and last day. A route that works well is Paro first, then Thimphu, then the Punakha valley, returning to Paro for the final night.
That order leaves the Taktsang climb until you have adjusted to the altitude. It also keeps the last day short, which matters when your BOM flight leaves in the morning. With 8 to 10 nights, add Bumthang in the middle rather than at the end.

FamilyBooked a family package for 7 nights covering Port Blair, Havelock, and Neil. The Cellular Jail light and sound show on Day 1 set a good tone for the trip. Kids were engaged throughout and the itinerary was not too rushed.
FriendsThree friends and I did a 9-night Australia package with stops in Melbourne and Sydney. We spent an afternoon at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and caught a local match. Tripstor sorted our group visa applications together which saved a lot of back and forth. Good experience overall.
HoneymoonHoneymooned in Kashmir for 7 nights in May. Gulmarg had light snow still and we got a gondola ride on Day 4. The tulip garden in Srinagar was in full bloom. Tripstor arranged a candlelit dinner on the houseboat which was a nice touch.
