September to November is the weak spot. Central Vietnam has flood and storm risk, and October is the wettest month, with 655mm of rain in Hoi An. Storms also affect the north from July to September, which can disrupt cruise schedules.

Two date clashes raise costs in 2026. The Tet period (February 16 to 20) can add 30 to 50 per cent to prices, and the April 30 to May 1 holiday can push hotel rates in Da Nang to 2 to 3 times normal, with two-night minimums. Avoid both if you can.

Indian passport holders need a visa for Vietnam. Apply through Vietnam's official e-visa portal and check the official portal for the current fee and processing time. Your passport should have at least six months of validity.
