Journey notes
Why this route works
What is different about this Cambodia honeymoon route?
This route keeps all five nights in Siem Reap instead of stretching across Phnom Penh and the coast. That means no repacking and two separate Angkor mornings rather than one rushed circuit.
Two fixed points anchor the plan: Angkor Wat at sunrise and a sunset cruise near Siem Reap town. Everything else is arranged around them, with early starts on temple days and late starts on the others. If you want a longer Cambodia holiday, compare it with other Cambodia tour packages.
Angkor sunrise and Siem Reap sunsets
Angkor Wat at sunrise is best done twice on this trip, on Day 2 and Day 4, because the second visit is calmer and you already know the layout. The reflection pool on the left of the causeway is where most couples wait for first light.
You leave the hotel around 4.30 am, enter before dawn with a phone torch and wait roughly 40 minutes for colour to build. Evenings are lighter: a small boat near Siem Reap town at golden hour, then the riverside and night market a short tuk-tuk ride from most hotels. Research guidance puts a tuk-tuk ride in the city at USD 1 to 5, and PassApp and Grab can book tuk-tuks and cars.
When to go and what the trip costs
November to February is the cool, dry stretch, with temperatures around 22 to 32 C and very little rain. December and January are the most comfortable but also the busiest and most expensive. March to May is hot, with April the hottest month. June to October brings heavy rain, lower prices and occasional flooding on rural roads. For a fuller month-by-month view, read our guide to the best time to visit Cambodia.
The Cambodia trip cost on this package is Rs.40,000 per person, land only, twin sharing. For two travellers, that figure applies to each of you. Flights, visa fees and personal spending sit outside it. If you extend the route later, intercity buses run about USD 8 to 18 per trip and scooter hire about USD 5 to 15 a day, as of March 2026.
Cambodia travel tips for Indian couples
Khmer is the official language and English is used in tourist areas, so hotel and restaurant staff in Siem Reap will manage comfortably. Carry some small US dollar notes for tuk-tuks and markets. Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport is roughly an hour or more from Siem Reap town, so keep your arrival day light.
Temple mornings mean uneven stone steps and plenty of walking. Comfortable shoes, a hat and a refillable bottle matter more than any outfit. Read our Cambodia visa for Indians page before you book flights.
How the days flow
The trip has two early starts, two late starts and one open day. Day 1 is arrival and settling in. Day 2 is the first Angkor sunrise and temple circuit. Day 3 stays in town with a late morning and the private dinner. Day 4 repeats the sunrise at a quieter temple and ends with the sunset cruise. Day 5 is free. Day 6 is checkout and departure.
Sunset slots are protected on Day 2 and Day 4. Apart from the private dinner, which can move to any evening, nothing is scheduled after 8 pm.
Moments to plan around
Four moments shape this trip, and each has a best day on the route.
- First Angkor sunrise, Day 2. Leave the hotel around 4.30 am to reach the causeway before the crowd builds.
- Private dinner, Day 3. The lightest day of the trip, so there is no early alarm the next morning.
- Sunset cruise, Day 4. About an hour on the water with drinks, timed to end before dinner.
- Free morning, Day 5. Breakfast at the hotel, then a spa session in the afternoon if you want one.
Why this suits couples
This route suits couples because it keeps you in one place and spaces the effort out. There are three concrete reasons.
- Privacy at dawn. The two sunrise mornings are before the heat and the main crowd, so you get Angkor Wat close to quiet.
- One base. A single Siem Reap hotel means no repacking and no long transfer days.
- Pace. Every early start is followed by a late one, so you are never tired on the next temple morning.
Romantic highlights
Six experiences stand out on this route, each easy to place in the plan.
- Angkor Wat at first light, standing at the reflection pool on the left of the causeway.
- A sunset cruise on the water near Siem Reap, with drinks served on board.
- A private dinner for two on Day 3, arranged in advance at your hotel or a booked setup.
- A couples spa session in Siem Reap town, usually 60 to 90 minutes.
- A photographer for one sunrise morning, so both of you are in the frame.
- An evening at the Siem Reap night market and riverside, a short tuk-tuk ride away.
Choosing the right stay style
Location matters more than star rating on this route. A hotel within a 10 to 15 minute tuk-tuk ride of the Angkor ticket counter and the riverside saves close to an hour of driving on sunrise mornings.
Ask for a room away from the road, ideally facing the pool or garden. A suite or larger double gives you space to spread out over five nights, and a bathtub is worth confirming if it matters to you. Boutique properties in Siem Reap often have fewer rooms and quieter courtyards than large resorts.
Best months for a couple's trip
November to February is the best window for a couple's trip, with cool, dry weather. December and January are the coolest and driest but also the busiest, so book early. March to May is hot, with April the peak. June to October is wet, cheaper and quieter, and rain tends to arrive in bursts.
| Season | Months | What it means for couples |
|---|---|---|
| Cool and dry | November to February | Most comfortable, highest demand and prices |
| Hot and dry | March to May | Very hot, April the hottest, lower prices |
| Wet and humid | June to October | Heavy rain, lower prices, some rural flooding |
Add-ons worth considering
Four add-ons fit this route well, each with a natural slot. A couples spa session fits best on Day 3 or Day 5, when the day is light. A private dinner works on any evening from Day 2, though Day 3 is the easiest to arrange.
A photographer for one sunrise morning should be booked before you travel, since good ones fill up in peak season. A longer or second boat trip suits Day 5 if you want a quiet finish. Prices are confirmed at booking.
Where you stay on this Cambodia honeymoon
All five nights are in Siem Reap, in a standard 3 to 4 star hotel on twin sharing. The tiers below are indicative per-person figures derived from the listed price and will move with season and room type.
- Budget 3-star, approx Rs.30,000 per person. Clean, well-run hotels with a pool, usually a short tuk-tuk ride from the centre.
- Standard 4-star, Rs.40,000 per person. The default for this package, with larger rooms, breakfast and often a pool and small garden.
- Premium 5-star, approx Rs.64,000 per person. Bigger suites, more dining options and a quieter setting, usually further from the main road.
Room upgrades, early check-in and late checkout are subject to availability and confirmed at booking.
Cambodia entry, money and flights for Indian travellers
Indian passport holders need a Cambodia visa. Apply through the official government e-visa portal and check the official portal for the current fee, as it is not part of this package price. The local currency is the Cambodian riel, though US dollars are widely used in Siem Reap, so confirm the rate on the day.
Flights from India connect through one or two hubs. Published durations are about 8 hours from Delhi, 7.75 hours from Mumbai, 7.25 hours from Hyderabad, 6.75 hours from Chennai and 6.5 hours from Kolkata, as of October 2026. For more planning detail, see our Cambodia travel guide.

FriendsThree friends and I did a 9-night Australia package with stops in Melbourne and Sydney. We spent an afternoon at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and caught a local match. Tripstor sorted our group visa applications together which saved a lot of back and forth. Good experience overall.
FamilyTravelled with my parents who are in their late 50s. Tripstor recommended two full acclimatization days in Leh before any high-altitude drives and that made a real difference. Tso Moriri was quieter than Pangong and honestly more worth the drive.
CoupleNorway is expensive but the experience is worth planning for. We did the Flam Railway and the Sognefjord on Day 5. Tripstor gave us a realistic budget breakdown before we booked, which I appreciated. No surprises on the ground.
