Venice gives you gondola rides through smaller canals, a vaporetto trip to Murano and Burano, and evenings in the Cannaregio or Dorsoduro neighbourhoods. The Amalfi Coast adds sea-view stays, a guided walk through Positano and Amalfi town, and a morning in Ravello's terraced gardens. Neither leg is overloaded with sightseeing.

The itinerary avoids large group tours. Transfers are private, and the romantic dinner on Day 4 is arranged for two. Couples who want more privacy can add a sunset cruise or a couples' spa session on Day 5.

How the Days Flow
The itinerary is structured so that the two heaviest travel days — arrival in Venice and the train-and-transfer day to the Amalfi Coast — are kept light on activities. Day 2 and Day 4 carry the most planned content. Days 3 and 5 have free afternoon slots.
Late starts are possible on Days 4 and 5. The Amalfi Coast road gets busy mid-morning, so the guided tour on Day 4 is scheduled for the morning. Day 5 in Ravello is flexible — you can return to the hotel by early afternoon and keep the evening for yourselves.

Choosing the Right Stay Style for a Honeymoon
Room choice matters more on a honeymoon than on most trips. In Venice, a room facing a canal rather than an internal courtyard adds to the setting, though canal-view rooms are priced higher. The Dorsoduro and Cannaregio areas are quieter than San Marco and still within walking distance of the main sights.
On the Amalfi Coast, a sea-view room in Positano or Ravello is worth the premium. Positano hotels are built into the hillside, so check whether your room has a private terrace or balcony. Ravello sits higher up and is noticeably quieter than Positano, which suits couples who prefer less foot traffic. Sorrento is a practical alternative base if you want easier transport links, though it has less of the coastal character.

Best Months for an Italy Honeymoon from India
April to June is the most popular window for Indian couples. Temperatures range from around 12°C to 30°C, rain is moderate, and the Amalfi Coast is fully open. September and early October are a close second — slightly less crowded than summer, with warm days and good evening weather on the coast.
July and August are the busiest and hottest months. Inland temperatures can exceed 35°C, and popular spots like Positano get very crowded. If you travel in summer, book gondola rides, restaurants and attractions well in advance. November to March is quieter and cheaper, but some Amalfi Coast hotels close between seasons, and Venice can be cold and wet.
Add-Ons Worth Considering
A few additions fit naturally into the free slots on this itinerary:
- Couples' spa session: Best placed on Day 5 afternoon in Ravello, when the morning tour is done. Ask us to check availability at your hotel or a nearby spa.
- Private sunset cruise on the Amalfi Coast: A 1–2 hour boat trip along the coast, usually departing from Positano or Amalfi. Fits Day 4 or Day 5 evening. Confirm cost at booking.
- Professional photographer: A local photographer for 1–2 hours in Venice (gondola ride) or Positano. Useful if you want good photos without asking strangers. Book at least two weeks ahead.
- Surprise arrangement: Flowers, a cake or a decorated room on arrival. Tell us the day and your budget, and we will coordinate with the hotel.
Entry, Money and Flights for Indian Travellers Visiting Italy
Indian passport holders need a Schengen visa to enter Italy. Apply through the Italian embassy or its official visa application centre in India. You will need your passport, photographs, confirmed flight and hotel bookings, travel insurance and recent bank statements. If your passport still shows your pre-marriage name, carry your marriage certificate. Check the official Italian consulate portal for the current visa fee and processing time.
Italy uses the Euro. Do not rely on UPI, as it is not widely accepted. Carry some cash for smaller shops, tips and local transport. From major Indian cities, the total travel time to Rome is roughly 17 to 18.5 hours including a stopover, depending on your departure city. Naples Airport (NAP) is the most convenient arrival point for this itinerary; Rome Fiumicino (FCO) is an alternative if you connect through Rome. Check with your airline at the time of booking for current fares.

Arrival in Venice
Arrive at Venice Marco Polo Airport, transfer to your hotel and take a first evening walk along the canals.

Arrive at Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE). Clear immigration and meet your driver for a private water taxi or land transfer to your hotel in the historic centre. Check in and leave your bags.
Afternoon
Rest after the flight. Take a short walk to a nearby campo (square) for your first Italian coffee. The area around Cannaregio or Dorsoduro is good for a quiet first look at the city.
Evening
Dinner at a local restaurant near your hotel. Afterwards, walk along the canal-side paths — the city is quieter in the evening and easier to navigate without the daytime crowds.

Venice: Islands and Gondola Ride
Visit Murano and Burano by vaporetto in the morning, then take a private gondola ride through the smaller canals in the evening.
Morning
Board a vaporetto to Murano and watch a glass-blowing demonstration at one of the workshops. Continue to Burano, known for its coloured houses and lace-making tradition. Allow about 3–4 hours for both islands.
Afternoon
Return to Venice and have lunch near the Rialto area. Visit St Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace — book tickets in advance, as queues are long in peak season.
Evening
Take a private gondola ride through the smaller canals away from the Grand Canal. This is best done in the late afternoon or early evening. Dinner at a restaurant in Dorsoduro or Cannaregio.

Train to Naples, Transfer to Amalfi Coast
Travel by Frecciarossa high-speed train from Venice to Naples, then drive to your Amalfi Coast hotel for a relaxed evening.

Check out and take a water taxi to Venice Santa Lucia station. Board the Frecciarossa to Naples (approximately 5.5 hours). Seats are booked in advance through Trenitalia — request a window pair when booking.
Afternoon
Arrive in Naples and meet your driver for a private transfer to the Amalfi Coast (approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic). Check in to your sea-view hotel in Positano or Amalfi.
Evening
Short walk down to the Positano beachfront or along the Amalfi waterfront. Dinner at a local trattoria with a sea view — a low-key first evening on the coast.

Visit Ravello's gardens and the Terrace of Infinity in the morning, then keep the afternoon free for optional add-ons or rest.
Morning
Drive to Ravello and visit Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo. The Terrace of Infinity at Villa Cimbrone faces the sea and is best seen early, before the day-trippers arrive. Allow 2–3 hours.
Afternoon
Free time — return to your hotel, book a couples' spa session or arrange a private photographer for a session in Positano. Optional: a 1–2 hour sunset cruise along the coast (confirm cost at booking).
Evening
