Sri Lanka Tour Packages from Kochi

The south and west coasts are safe for swimming from December to March. The east coast, including Trincomalee and Arugam Bay, is best from May to September. Outside these windows, monsoon swells make swimming risky. Always use patrolled beach sections and check local warnings on arrival.

Five to six nights works for a single coastal base with light sightseeing. A trip covering two coasts or a beach-plus-wildlife combination needs 7–10 nights. Shorter trips tend to feel rushed once you factor in travel days between regions.

Sri Lanka works well for honeymooners who want variety. Quiet bays on the south coast, a scenic train journey through tea country and early-morning whale watching from Mirissa are all practical options. Bentota is a popular choice for couples who prefer a settled, resort-style base over moving between towns.

Snorkelling and shore diving run mainly on the south and west coasts from December to March. Whale watching from Mirissa operates in the early morning during that same window. Surfing is strongest on the east coast from May to September. Most boat operators suspend trips during the monsoon on the affected coast.

Public buses and trains connect the main coastal towns. Tuk-tuks and taxis cover shorter distances within beach areas. Private shuttles are available for longer transfers and can be arranged through your accommodation or tour operator. Book longer transfers in advance during peak season to avoid delays.

Check current entry requirements on the official Sri Lanka government source before booking, as rules and documentation can change. Carry a printed or saved copy of any approvals, your return ticket and accommodation details. Visa types, fees and processing times are covered in a separate guide and are not quoted here.

Land-only packages start from Rs.50,000 per person on twin sharing. The final price depends on season, room category, number of regions covered and whether safaris or activities are included. December to February is peak season and costs more; May to September is generally cheaper. Confirm the full breakdown at booking.
