Package overview
The thinking behind this journey.
A closer look at this 7-night journey through Philippines— who it's built for, what you'll experience, and why the pace works.
Journey notes
Why this route works
What a Manila and Boracay family itinerary covers
This 7-night route splits into Manila first, then Boracay. The package includes city sightseeing, a domestic flight, a boat transfer to the island and a half-day island-hopping trip. Boracay is a beach destination in Aklan province, and Manila adds shopping, dining and live music for the evenings.
The trip is planned around a family's energy levels. Mornings carry the activities, afternoons stay free for naps or pool time, and dinners are early. Sightseeing is kept to photo stops and short walks, so grandparents can join every outing.
Why this route works for children and grandparents
The only long legs are the international flight into Manila and one domestic hop to Boracay. After that, you stay in a single beach resort and unpack only once.
- A city start, so nobody reaches the beach already exhausted from the flight.
- One Boracay hotel for the whole beach stay, with no mid-trip pack-and-move days.
- A rest window after lunch on most days.
- Resort restaurants that serve dinner early, which suits small children.
- A wide, flat beachfront at White Beach, easier on knees than hill walks.
Best time to visit the Philippines from India
December to February is the cool dry season, and it is the best window for this family trip. According to the national weather agency PAGASA, the rainy season runs from June to November, and typhoon activity peaks from July to October.
| Period | Season | Manila daytime range | Family suitability |
|---|---|---|---|
| December to February | Cool dry season | About 30-31 C highs, 98.5 mm rain in December, 19-22 mm in January and February | Best choice for children and elders |
| March to May | Hot dry season | About 32-34 C highs, rain rises in May | Workable, with pool and rest breaks |
| June to November | Rainy season | About 31-33 C highs, July and August the wettest | Needs flexible plans and weather checks |
Rainfall varies by island, so Manila's figures do not describe Boracay on the same day. In the rainy months, keep one indoor backup plan per day and check the forecast before boat transfers.
What affects the cost of this Philippines holiday
The listed price is Rs.56,500 per person on twin sharing for land arrangements, as of 2026. Airfare from India, the Manila to Boracay flight and its fare class, travel insurance, visa fees and personal spending should be confirmed separately at booking.
Room category moves the price most. Standard 3-4 star beach resorts sit near the listed figure, while beachfront rooms close to Station 1 on White Beach cost more. Peak holiday dates also raise rates. Public-utility vehicle and airport taxi fares rose in September 2026, so transfer costs are worth reconfirming. You can compare other routes across our Philippines tour packages before fixing dates.
Good to know before you book
English is an official language in the Philippines, so signs, menus and hotel staff are easy to deal with. Jeepneys, tricycles and motorbike taxis handle local trips, but families usually do better with a private van for airport and resort transfers.
Carry small notes for tricycle fares, keep a photocopy of every passport, and pack medicines in original packaging. Indian passport holders need to sort out entry permission before travel, and our guide to the Philippines visa for Indians explains the application route.
Kid and elder logistics
Transfers are by private vehicle with child seats and wheelchair-friendly pickup arranged on request, to be confirmed at booking. The longest single stretch on the ground is the road and boat transfer to Boracay, and it is broken by a rest stop at the jetty.
- Seating: families travel together in one vehicle, with the front seat kept free for a grandparent who feels motion sickness.
- Rooms: ask for family or connecting rooms at booking, as availability depends on the hotel.
- Mobility: White Beach has a flat beachfront path, but sand is soft, so a stroller or wheelchair works better on paved resort paths.
- Snacks: carry biscuits, fruit and water for the jetty transfer, as there is little food between the airport and the boat.
- Boat days: life jackets are provided, and a child-size jacket should be requested in advance.
Why this trip suits families
This trip suits families because the pace is slow, the stay is in one place and everyone has something to do. Children get sand and shallow water, adults get a beach and a city, and elders get early dinners and quiet afternoons.
- Short transfers, with only one domestic flight and one boat leg.
- Shared activities, such as the island-hopping trip and beach evenings, so nobody sits out.
- Food that is easy to manage, with mall food courts in Manila and resort restaurants on Boracay.
- Medical access, with pharmacies and clinics near both bases.
Highlights by age group
Younger children
- Sand play and shallow-water wading on White Beach.
- Air-conditioned mall play areas in Manila on the city day.
- A short boat ride on the island-hopping trip, with child life jackets.
Teenagers
- Snorkelling stops during the half-day boat trip.
- Optional parasailing or banana boat rides on Boracay, subject to age and weight limits.
- Intramuros and Rizal Park in Manila for photos and short history stops.
Grandparents
- Seated sightseeing from the vehicle in Manila with limited walking.
- Shaded beach seating and sunset walks on a flat path.
- Quiet afternoons at the resort and early dinners.
Daily pace, rest and logistics
A typical day starts with breakfast, one activity before lunch and a free afternoon. Rest windows of two to three hours are built in after lunch, so children can nap and elders can stay out of the midday sun.
Driving times stay short. Manila sightseeing is a half-day city drive, and the transfer to Boracay is one flight of roughly an hour, followed by a road and boat transfer. Manila traffic can be slow, so plan to leave the hotel early on airport days. Boracay itself is small, and most hotels are a short ride from the beach.
Rooms, meals and comfort
Rooms are twin sharing in the standard 3-4 star category, and family or connecting rooms can be requested, subject to the hotel. Breakfast is included every day, and other meals are paid locally unless stated.
Vegetarian dishes are available in Manila malls and most Boracay resort restaurants. Strict Jain food is harder to find, so tell us at booking. Child-friendly options such as rice, noodles, eggs and fruit are on most menus, and hotels will usually prepare a plain meal on request.
Tips for travelling with kids and elders
Plan around heat, rain and paperwork. These five tips cover what families tend to miss.
- Carry passports with at least six months' validity, and keep birth certificates for children handy for any age checks.
- Pack light cotton clothes, a hat, reef-safe sunscreen and a light rain jacket, as showers can arrive on any island.
- Keep prescription medicines in original packaging with a doctor's note, and carry a basic kit for stomach upsets and sunburn.
- Drink bottled or filtered water, and be careful with ice and raw salads on day one.
- Check the forecast before boat days, because sea transfers can be delayed during typhoon months from July to October.
Where you will stay in Manila and Boracay
Stays are 3-4 star hotels, with a city hotel in Metro Manila and a beach resort near White Beach on Boracay. Boracay is divided into three stations, and each suits a different kind of family.
| Stay tier (indicative, per person) | Category | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Budget, approx Rs.42,500 | 3-star | Simple rooms, basic breakfast, a walk or short ride to the beach, often around Station 3 |
| Standard, Rs.56,500 (this package) | 3-4 star | Comfortable rooms, pool access, breakfast, close to White Beach |
| Premium, approx Rs.90,500 | 5-star | Larger rooms, beachfront position, more dining options, often around Station 1 |
Station 1 is the quieter beach-resort stretch, Station 2 is busier with nightlife, and Station 3 is cheaper with hostels and hotels. Families usually prefer Station 1 for calm water and quieter evenings. Exact hotels are confirmed at booking.
Entry, money and flights for Indian travellers to the Philippines
Indian passport holders should check the entry rules for the Philippines before booking, and the fee should be checked on the official portal for the current figure. Our Philippines visa for Indians page covers the application steps.

Flights to Manila from India are usually one-stop, often via Manila or Cebu, with typical times as of October 2026 of about 9.7 hours from Delhi, 9.4 from Mumbai, 8.7 from Bengaluru, 8.4 from Chennai, 8.9 from Hyderabad and 8.2 from Kolkata. Fares vary by season, so confirm at booking.

CoupleNorway is expensive but the experience is worth planning for. We did the Flam Railway and the Sognefjord on Day 5. Tripstor gave us a realistic budget breakdown before we booked, which I appreciated. No surprises on the ground.
HoneymoonHoneymooned in Kashmir for 7 nights in May. Gulmarg had light snow still and we got a gondola ride on Day 4. The tulip garden in Srinagar was in full bloom. Tripstor arranged a candlelit dinner on the houseboat which was a nice touch.
FamilyBooked a family package for 7 nights covering Port Blair, Havelock, and Neil. The Cellular Jail light and sound show on Day 1 set a good tone for the trip. Kids were engaged throughout and the itinerary was not too rushed.
