Package overview
The thinking behind this journey.
A closer look at this 5-night journey through Munnar— who it's built for, what you'll experience, and why the pace works.
Journey notes
Why this route works
What does this Munnar honeymoon tour package include?
The package covers five nights in Munnar, daily breakfast and dinner, and private car transfers for all sightseeing. It follows a slow route through tea country, with plantation walks, a lake morning and two viewpoint evenings. It is planned for two people, not a group.
- Duration: 5 nights / 6 days
- Price: Rs.24,500 per person, land only, twin sharing
- Stay: Standard 3-4 star hotel
- Signature places: tea plantations, Mattupetty Lake, Top Station, Echo Point
- Best months: October to February
Why choose this Munnar holiday for a honeymoon?
This trip suits couples because the drives are short and the afternoons are left open. Munnar is a hill station in Kerala's Idukki district, in the Western Ghats, at roughly 1,500 to 2,500 metres above sea level.
You get a guided tea plantation and factory tour, boating at Mattupetty Lake and sunset at Top Station or Echo Point. Dinner is at the stay, so evenings do not end in long transfers. There are no group tours and no fixed morning alarms, apart from the Eravikulam entry window on Day 5.
Where does the Munnar trip fit the day-by-day plan?
Day 1 is arrival and check-in. Days 2 to 5 alternate one main outing with free time. Day 6 is checkout and the drive back to Kochi. The full day-wise schedule is listed in the itinerary section of this page.
Moments to plan around on this route
A few moments decide how this trip feels, so it helps to know which day suits each one. Weather can shift them, and your guide will confirm the final slot each morning.
- First tea-garden morning (Day 2): the guided walk starts early, when mist still sits on the slopes and the pluckers are at work.
- Lake time at Mattupetty (Day 3): boating is best in the morning, before the afternoon cloud rolls in.
- Sunset at Echo Point (Day 3): a short evening drive from the stay, with time to stay on after the crowd leaves.
- Top Station views (Day 4): leave early for the clearest light, then stop at Chinnakanal Waterfalls on the way back.
- Private dinner (Day 5): the last full evening works best, once you have settled into the pace of the place.
Why this route suits couples
This route suits couples because it is slow, quiet and mostly outdoors. The tea gardens give open space with few people around, and viewpoints like Top Station are best at the edges of the day.
- Privacy: a private car means you set the pace and stop where you like.
- Setting: tea slopes, a lake and hill views make walking together part of the plan.
- Pace: one main outing a day, with afternoons free for rest or a spa.
Romantic highlights of the Munnar trip
- Guided tea plantation walk: follow a guide through the gardens and learn how the leaf is plucked and graded.
- Tea factory visit: see withering, rolling and drying, and taste fresh tea at the end.
- Mattupetty Lake boating: a boat ride beside the masonry dam, subject to weather.
- Echo Point sunset: a quiet viewpoint evening, usually before dinner.
- Top Station sunrise or sunset: a hill viewpoint over the Western Ghats, best on a clear day.
- Eravikulam National Park walk: a 2 to 3 hour walk to see the Nilgiri Tahr, with entry from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
How the days flow
The days follow one outing in the morning, a long lunch and free time in the afternoon, and an easy evening. Day 4 has the longest drive, to Top Station, so it starts earlier than the rest.
Days 2, 3 and 5 are lighter, so late starts are fine. Sunset slots are fixed around Echo Point and Top Station, and everything else can shift to suit you. Day 6 begins with a relaxed breakfast, then the drive to Kochi, which takes about 4 hours via Adimali.
Choosing the right stay style in Munnar
For a honeymoon, the view, the privacy and the access matter more than the star rating. A room with a window or balcony facing the hills usually adds more than a bigger room facing a car park.
- View rooms: ask for a hill or tea-garden view when you book.
- Privacy: smaller properties outside the town centre are usually quieter at night.
- Access: a stay close to Munnar town makes dinner and shopping easy, while the outer areas are calmer.
We do not name properties in this section. The exact hotel is confirmed at booking.
What are the best months for a couple's trip to Munnar?
October to February is the best period for a couple's trip to Munnar, with cool, misty and comparatively dry weather. It is also the busiest season, so hotel rates are at their highest.
| Months | Season | What it means for a couple |
|---|---|---|
| October to February | Peak winter | Cool and misty with comparatively dry days; highest crowds and rates |
| March to May | Pre-monsoon | Warmer, with increasing showers and moderate crowds |
| June to September | Southwest monsoon | Heavy rain, fewer visitors, higher risk of road blocks and landslides |
Temperatures range from about 14 to 27 C through the year, per the weather data we use. Eravikulam National Park may close for the calving period, usually around February to March, so check before you plan Day 5.
Add-ons worth considering
A few add-ons can lift a honeymoon without changing the route. All are subject to availability and are confirmed at booking.
- Spa session: a massage at the stay or a resort spa, best on the free afternoon of Day 3.
- Private dinner: a table set up for two, best on Day 5.
- Room decoration or cake: arranged on request for arrival day or a special date.
- Photographer: a short shoot at the tea gardens, best in the Day 2 morning light.

How to reach Munnar and what to know before you go
Munnar has no airport or railway station, so you reach it by road. The usual route is a flight to Kochi, then about 4 hours by road via Adimali. Aluva railway station is about 110 km away, with onward travel by taxi or bus.
Heavy rain in June and July can cause landslides and close the Kochi-Munnar road, so keep a buffer day in the monsoon. A tourist entry fee and green checkposts were reported as planned for July 2026, so confirm any entry rules at booking. Mobile signal can drop on the road and in the hills, so download offline maps before you leave. Private vehicles are not allowed inside Eravikulam National Park, and entry can be booked online.
Share your dates and the moments that matter most; we will adjust the pace and stays to match.

HoneymoonHoneymooned in Kashmir for 7 nights in May. Gulmarg had light snow still and we got a gondola ride on Day 4. The tulip garden in Srinagar was in full bloom. Tripstor arranged a candlelit dinner on the houseboat which was a nice touch.
FamilyBooked a family package for 7 nights covering Port Blair, Havelock, and Neil. The Cellular Jail light and sound show on Day 1 set a good tone for the trip. Kids were engaged throughout and the itinerary was not too rushed.
CoupleNorway is expensive but the experience is worth planning for. We did the Flam Railway and the Sognefjord on Day 5. Tripstor gave us a realistic budget breakdown before we booked, which I appreciated. No surprises on the ground.
