Journey notes
Why this route works
What is a Jim Corbett honeymoon package?
A Jim Corbett honeymoon package is a couple-only itinerary that combines a riverside stay near Corbett Tiger Reserve with safaris, a private dinner and unscheduled afternoons. This one is based on the Kosi River belt near Dhikuli, with Ramnagar as the arrival point.
Corbett Tiger Reserve sits in the Shivalik hills of Uttarakhand and is reached mainly through Ramnagar. Its tourism zones include Bijrani, Jhirna, Dhela, Garjiya, Durgadevi, Phato, Sitabani and Dhikala. Jhirna and Dhela are listed as open through the year, which gives you a fallback when other zones are closed. For other trip lengths and styles, see our Jim Corbett tour packages.
Why this trip suits couples
This route works for couples because the stay, the safari gates and the quiet time are all within a short drive of each other. You spend more hours by the river than in a vehicle.
- Privacy: The Dhikuli resort belt along the Kosi has lodges set back from the main road, so evenings are quiet, unlike the busier approach-road lodges in Ramnagar town.
- Setting: The river is the main view. Mornings start with forest drives, and the rest of the day is yours.
- Pace: A focused Corbett trip is usually 2-3 nights. Four nights gives you a full day with no safari at all, which most couples end up using.
Moments to plan around
A few moments decide how this trip feels, and each fits best on a particular day. Plan them early so they do not get squeezed.
- First river evening (Day 1): Reach the lodge by afternoon, so you catch the light on the Kosi before dinner.
- First safari morning (Day 2): Gates open early, and morning slots are commonly listed from about 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM. Dress in muted colours and carry a light jacket in winter.
- Private dinner for two (Day 3): This is the evening to book, because the day before has an early start and the day after is a safari morning.
- Last slow breakfast (Day 5): Checkout is relaxed, with the Ramnagar railway station only about 12 km from the Dhikuli lodges.
Romantic highlights
These are the experiences this itinerary is built around. Each is specific to the Kosi belt and the Corbett circuit.
- Private 4x4 jeep safari: A private jeep, so there are no strangers in your vehicle, in a zone such as Bijrani or Jhirna.
- Riverside walk at the lodge: A short walk along the Kosi bank on arrival day, with tea afterwards.
- Corbett Waterfall: A half-day drive on the Kaladhungi side of the Corbett circuit, with time for photographs.
- Candlelight dinner for two: Set up at the lodge or on a river-facing deck, to be confirmed at booking.
- Buffer-zone safari: A second drive in a zone like Sitabani or Dhela, usually quieter than the main core zones.
- Nature photography: Photography is among the listed activities in the Corbett area, and a camera fee applies at park entry.
How the days flow
The trip is paced around two safari mornings and three slower days. Early starts are limited to safari days, and every afternoon is open.
Day 1 is arrival and a river walk. Day 2 starts with a dawn safari, then lunch and rest. Day 3 is a late start, a drive to Corbett Waterfall and a private dinner. Day 4 has a second safari in a buffer zone and a free evening. Day 5 is a relaxed checkout. If you want a lie-in on a safari morning, tell us and we will request a later slot, subject to permit availability.
Choosing the right stay style
For a honeymoon, pick a lodge by its setting and access, not just its star rating. Three things matter most: river view, privacy and distance to the gates.
- River-facing rooms: Ask for a room or cottage that faces the Kosi, not the road. This changes your evenings more than any room upgrade.
- Privacy: Look for cottages or ground-floor rooms with their own sit-out, rather than corridor-style blocks.
- Access: The Dhikuli belt is a short drive from Ramnagar and the Bijrani and Jhirna gates. Staying near the northern Dhikala approach means longer drives and suits wildlife-focused groups more than couples.
Best months for a couple's trip
December to February is the best window for tiger sightings and cool mornings, but it is also peak season with the highest prices. March to April is warmer and generally dry, with core zones open and medium crowds.
October and November see safari access reopen in stages as rainfall drops. May and June are hot, up to 42°C, and quiet, with lower prices. July to September brings heavy rain and most core zones are closed.
| Season | Months | Temperature range | What it means for a couple |
|---|---|---|---|
| Winter | December to February | 2-30°C | Cool, dry mornings; high crowds and peak prices |
| Spring | March to April | 8-38°C | Warmer and dry; core zones open, medium crowds |
| Summer | May to mid-June | 20-42°C | Hot; low crowds and lower prices |
| Monsoon | July to September | 22-35°C | Heavy rain; most core zones closed |
| Post-monsoon | October to November | 8-38°C | Safari access reopens in stages |
Add-ons worth considering
Four add-ons suit a honeymoon here: a private dinner, a spa session, a photographer and an extra safari. Each is optional and priced separately, so confirm charges at booking.
- Private dinner setup: Best on Day 3, when the morning is free of a safari start.
- Spa session: Fits the Day 3 or Day 4 afternoon, if the lodge offers one.
- Photographer: A short riverside session on Day 1 or Day 3, when the light is softer.
- Extra jeep safari: Worth adding on Day 3 if you want a third drive, subject to permit availability.
Where to stay on the Kosi at three price levels
Riverside lodges on the Kosi near Dhikuli come in three broad tiers. The price below is indicative, per person, on twin sharing, and this itinerary is priced at the Standard tier.
| Stay category | Indicative price per person | What you can expect |
|---|---|---|
| Budget 3-star | Approx. Rs.15,500 | Simple rooms, limited river view, basic dining |
| Standard 3-4 star (this package) | Rs.20,500 | Comfortable rooms, riverside setting, in-house dining |
| Premium 5-star | Approx. Rs.33,000 | Larger rooms or cottages, better privacy, more in-house services |
Budget lodges in Ramnagar town sit on the approach road and are cheaper. The Dhikuli belt is described as the resort stretch along the Kosi and suits couples. We describe each category but do not name specific lodges here.
Getting to Jim Corbett and moving around
Ramnagar railway station is the main arrival point, about 12 km from the park, and the Delhi to Ramnagar train takes roughly 5.75 hours as of June 2026. By road from Delhi, you pass Hapur, Moradabad and Kashipur.
The nearest airports are Pantnagar, Dehradun and Delhi. Safaris run in jeeps, and Dhikala also has canters. Heavy monsoon rain can wash out roads and close safari zones, so check conditions if you travel from July to September. Safari bookings go through the official Corbett Tiger Reserve website and open up to 45 days ahead. Mobile coverage inside the forest is limited, so confirm connectivity at your lodge at booking.
What does it cost for two, and what is extra?
The package starts at Rs.20,500 per person on twin sharing, land only, so the base cost for two is simply twice that figure before extras. Safari permit rates differ between official tariff pages and by zone, vehicle and date, so confirm current prices at booking.
- Guide fee: Rs.1,000, payable separately.
- Camera fee: Rs.300 to Rs.600 for a DSLR or professional camera.
- Peak surcharge: Some sources list a separate per-jeep surcharge in peak periods without naming the dates, so confirm current prices at booking.
A source also reports a restriction on safari vehicles older than 15 years (March 2026), so we confirm vehicles at booking.
Share your dates and the moments that matter most; we will adjust the pace and stays to match.

FamilyBooked a family package for 7 nights covering Port Blair, Havelock, and Neil. The Cellular Jail light and sound show on Day 1 set a good tone for the trip. Kids were engaged throughout and the itinerary was not too rushed.
FriendsThree friends and I did a 9-night Australia package with stops in Melbourne and Sydney. We spent an afternoon at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and caught a local match. Tripstor sorted our group visa applications together which saved a lot of back and forth. Good experience overall.
FamilyTravelled with my parents who are in their late 50s. Tripstor recommended two full acclimatization days in Leh before any high-altitude drives and that made a real difference. Tso Moriri was quieter than Pangong and honestly more worth the drive.
