Package overview
The thinking behind this journey.
A closer look at this 7-night journey through Greece— who it's built for, what you'll experience, and why the pace works.
Journey notes
Why this route works
What is a Greece honeymoon package?
A Greece honeymoon package is a pre-arranged couple's holiday that links Athens with Cycladic islands, bundling hotel nights, inter-island transfers and a small set of romantic experiences. This version covers Santorini and Mykonos over 7 nights, priced from Rs.72,000 per person, land only.
The route is simple on purpose. You land in Athens, connect to Santorini for the first half, take a short ferry to Mykonos for the second half, then fly out via Athens. Seven nights split as four and three keeps transfers to two island moves. Compare other routes on our Greece tour packages page.
Moments to plan around
Four moments shape this trip, and each has a best day on the route. Plan around them first and let the rest of each day stay loose.
- Oia sunset: Day 2. Reach Oia by late afternoon and find a spot near the castle ruins well before sunset, as the crowd builds from about an hour before.
- Volcano and hot-springs boat trip: Day 3. A morning departure from the old port gives calmer water and cooler walking on the volcanic trail.
- Little Venice evening: Day 5. Arrive in Mykonos Town by late afternoon, walk to Little Venice and take a waterside table as the windmills catch the last light.
- Dinner for two: Day 7. This is the open evening on the route, so it is the one to book ahead if you are marking an anniversary or a first-month celebration.
Why this route suits couples
Santorini and Mykonos give a couple two very different evenings within one short ferry ride. Santorini is quiet terraces and caldera light; Mykonos is a walkable town with late dinners.
- Privacy at the right places: Fira and Oia have terraces and viewpoints where two people can sit through a sunset without a tour group around them, especially away from the main castle spot.
- Setting that does the work: The caldera, the black-sand south coast and Little Venice carry the romance, so you are not paying for activities to fill the day.
- Pace you control: Only one planned activity falls on most days. Mornings are free and evenings stay open for sunset and dinner.
How the days flow
Days run on a slow rhythm: late breakfast, one planned item in the afternoon, and an open evening built around sunset. Only Day 1, Day 5 and Day 8 involve real travel.
Day 1 is arrival and a light evening. Days 2 to 4 are spent in Santorini, with the caldera villages, the boat trip and a beach day. Day 5 moves you to Mykonos by high-speed ferry, which takes roughly two to three hours. Days 6 and 7 cover the south-coast beaches and an open day. Day 8 is checkout and departure. Keep the last afternoon clear of plans, as flight timings from Mykonos and Athens connections decide how much time you have.
Choosing the right stay style
For couples, the stay that matters is the one with the right view and the right walk to dinner. In Santorini that means the caldera side of Fira or Oia; in Mykonos it means a base near Mykonos Town or a short ride from a beach.
- Caldera-facing room: A balcony or terrace facing the sea is the main upgrade in Santorini. Rooms on the village side are cheaper but lose the sunset view.
- Walkable location: In both islands, being able to walk to dinner and back removes the need for taxis late at night.
- Quiet versus central: In Mykonos Town, central rooms are close to everything but louder at night. A hotel a few minutes outside town is calmer and still easy to reach.
- Room privacy: Ask about a private balcony or terrace. Many 3-4 star Cycladic hotels offer a few such rooms, subject to availability at booking.
Best months for a couple's trip
May, June, September and early October suit this trip best. Day temperatures sit between roughly 15C and 30C, ferries run full schedules and island businesses are open.
July and August reach about 23-33C with peak prices and the largest crowds. From late October, ferry timetables and many island hotels and restaurants reduce operations or close for winter. If your dates fall between November and March, expect a quieter, cheaper trip but far fewer services on both islands.
| Season | Typical temperature | Crowds and prices | Island services |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spring (Mar-May) | 7-25C, rain falling | Medium crowds, medium prices | Opening up through the season |
| Summer (Jun-Aug) | 20-33C, very dry | High crowds, peak prices | Full operation |
| September-October | 15-29C | High in September, medium in October | Full, then reducing late October |
| Nov-Feb | 6-18C, wetter | Low crowds, low prices | Reduced or closed on islands |
Add-ons worth considering
Four add-ons fit a honeymoon route well. Each is optional, priced separately and confirmed at booking.
- Couple spa session: Best on Day 7 in Mykonos, the open day, when there is no ferry or transfer to plan around.
- Private dinner: A reserved table or a private terrace dinner suits Day 7, or Day 2 if you want the first big evening marked.
- Photographer: A short private session in Oia early morning, before the crowds, or in Mykonos Town in the old lanes around golden hour.
- Sunset cruise: Sailing is a listed Greek activity for couples. A caldera cruise fits Day 4 in Santorini, which is otherwise a free beach day.
Where you will stay in Santorini and Mykonos
Stays are 3-4 star hotels in Fira or Oia in Santorini and near Mykonos Town in Mykonos. The Standard 4-star tier is the default at Rs.72,000 per person; the other tiers are indicative and per person.
- Budget 3-star, approx Rs.54,000: Simple, clean rooms, usually on the village side with fewer view rooms. Suits couples who plan to spend most of the day outside.
- Standard 4-star, Rs.72,000 (default): Better rooms and locations, often with a balcony or terrace, and a sit-down breakfast. This is the category the itinerary is priced on.
- Premium 5-star, approx Rs.1,15,000: Caldera-facing rooms or suites, larger terraces and on-site spa or pool. Best if the view from the room is the priority.
No hotel brands are named here; exact properties are confirmed at booking.
What the trip cost covers
The Rs.72,000 per person figure is land only, twin sharing, flights excluded. Two travellers sharing a room each pay this per-person rate. It covers hotel nights, the listed transfers, daily breakfast and the planned experiences in the inclusions.
Greek hotels add small nightly charges on top of the room rate. Cost guides for 2026 list a tourist tax of about EUR 0.50 to EUR 4 per room per night, a climate resilience fee of about EUR 1.50 to EUR 15 per room per night depending on star rating and season, and a peak surcharge of EUR 2 to EUR 15 per room per night from April to October. Confirm the exact amounts at booking.
For budgeting on the ground, souvlaki or gyro costs about EUR 3-5, a casual taverna meal EUR 15-25 per person, a short Cycladic ferry hop EUR 20-40, and basic local transport EUR 5-10 per day.
Entry, money and flights from India to Greece
Indian passport holders need a Schengen visa for Greece. Apply through the official Greek visa application route, and check the official portal for the current fee and document list; our Greece visa for Indians guide covers the steps. Newly married travellers should carry a marriage certificate copy if the passport still shows a maiden name.
The currency is the euro. Cards work in towns and established tourist businesses, but smaller villages and less-visited islands lean on cash, so carry some euros. Flights from major Indian cities usually connect via a hub and take roughly 9 to 14 hours in total. Confirm fares and airlines at booking, as they vary widely by season.
Greece travel tips for couples
- Book high-speed ferry seats early for June to September; popular morning sailings fill up weeks ahead.
- Validate your Athens metro or bus ticket before boarding. The penalty for travelling without a valid ticket rose to about EUR 100 in May 2026.
- Keep the Day 1 evening light. If your flight lands late, a delay should not eat into the Santorini connection.
- Pack a light layer for caldera evenings, when the sea breeze makes sunset hours cooler than the afternoon.
- Do not expect identical road and signage conditions across islands; pre-book transfers instead of driving unless you are confident on island roads.
Share your dates and the moments that matter most; we will adjust the pace and stays to match.

FamilyTravelled with my parents who are in their late 50s. Tripstor recommended two full acclimatization days in Leh before any high-altitude drives and that made a real difference. Tso Moriri was quieter than Pangong and honestly more worth the drive.
CoupleNorway is expensive but the experience is worth planning for. We did the Flam Railway and the Sognefjord on Day 5. Tripstor gave us a realistic budget breakdown before we booked, which I appreciated. No surprises on the ground.
FamilyBooked a family package for 7 nights covering Port Blair, Havelock, and Neil. The Cellular Jail light and sound show on Day 1 set a good tone for the trip. Kids were engaged throughout and the itinerary was not too rushed.
