Journey notes
Why this route works
What is a Germany family package?
A Germany family package is a fixed-route holiday where hotels, transfers and sightseeing are arranged around children and older relatives. Here, the plan combines Europa-Park with forest stops at Freiburg, Titisee and Triberg.
You get one base per region, private-vehicle transfers and a daily rhythm that leaves room for rest. Lunches, dinners and anything not listed in the inclusions are confirmed at booking.
Germany family tour package from India: what you get
The package covers 8 nights in standard 3-4 star hotels, daily breakfast, private-vehicle transfers and sightseeing across the Black Forest and Rust. Land cost starts at Rs.73,500 per person, twin sharing, flights excluded.
Park entry for the days listed, a Titisee lake cruise (season and weather permitting) and a cuckoo-clock workshop visit are part of the plan. Best months are May and September, when days are mild and queues are manageable.
Day-by-day plan in brief
Days 1 to 4 stay in the Black Forest region with Freiburg, Titisee and Triberg. Days 5 to 7 shift to Rust for two park days and a free afternoon. Day 8 is the drive back to Frankfurt and Day 9 is departure.
The full day-by-day breakdown, with morning, afternoon and evening plans, is listed in the itinerary section of this page.
What is included and excluded in this package?
Hotels, breakfast, park entry for listed days, the lake cruise, the workshop visit and all private transfers are included. Flights, visa fee, insurance, most lunches and dinners, extra-ticket attractions and personal spending are not.
Anything we cannot confirm today, such as family-room layouts, is marked as confirmed at booking. The detailed inclusion and exclusion lists are shown alongside this page.
Kid and elder logistics
Every transfer is by private vehicle with child seats on request, to be confirmed at booking. Most drives are under two hours, with snack and washroom stops on the longer legs on Day 1, Day 5 and Day 8.
Europa-Park and Freiburg old town are largely step-free and stroller-friendly. Wheelchair users should tell us in advance, as Triberg waterfall paths are sloped and the lower section is the realistic option. Hotels can usually place a ground-floor or lift-access room on request.
Why this route works for children and grandparents
Most drives on this route stay under two hours, so no one spends half a day in a vehicle. The longest legs are the airport transfers on Day 1 and Day 8, and both include a snack stop.
Forest days are slow and walkable, park days are active, and a free afternoon after each busy stretch gives toddlers and elders time to rest. Teenagers get rides, parents get predictable timings, and grandparents are never forced onto a ride queue. Early dinners at the hotel keep bedtimes regular and food familiar.
Highlights by age group
Each age band gets something of its own on this route.
Younger children
- Family rides in the themed areas of Europa-Park that suit smaller height bands
- Titisee lake cruise and the lakeside promenade
- Watching a cuckoo clock being assembled at the workshop
Teenagers
- Faster rides and water rides on the full park day
- Second park morning on Day 7 for rides missed earlier
- Triberg waterfall trail with the upper viewpoints
Grandparents
- Freiburg old town walk at an easy pace, with seating near the market square
- Park shows and seating areas while the others ride
- Lower section of the Triberg waterfall trail and the open-air museum
Pace, rest and daily rhythm
Days start around 9 am and end with dinner by 7 pm. Each busy day is followed by a lighter one, and Day 2, Day 5 and Day 7 have free afternoons.
Driving never exceeds about three hours on a single day, and the longest legs include a halt. Day 1 is kept light for jet lag. On the full park day, plan a midday break at the hotel or a seating area, since children tire faster than they admit.
Rooms, meals and comfort
Family rooms or connecting rooms are requested at each hotel and confirmed at booking. Standard 3-4 star hotels in this region usually offer triple or quad rooms, a breakfast buffet and a lift.
Vegetarian food is easy to find at breakfast and in larger towns, and children's portions are common in restaurants. Jain meals need advance notice. Carry some dry snacks for long transfers and park days.
Germany travel tips with kids and elders
- Documents: Carry each child's passport and birth certificate, and keep a copy of visa pages separately.
- Layers: Forest weather changes within a day. Pack a light waterproof jacket and warm layers for evenings.
- Medicines: Carry regular medicines with prescriptions in original packaging, as pharmacies stock different brands.
- Park timing: Choose a weekday for the main park day if your dates allow, since weekends are busier.
- Language: German is the main language, though English is used in most tourist settings.
Where you will stay in the Black Forest and Rust
The first four nights are in a Black Forest region hotel, close enough to Freiburg, Titisee and Triberg for short drives. The next three nights are in Rust or nearby, within a few minutes of Europa-Park. The last night is near Frankfurt Airport.
Indicative price tiers per person, for context: a budget 3-star version is roughly Rs.55,000, the standard 3-4 star version in this package is Rs.73,500, and a premium 5-star version is roughly Rs.1,17,500. Budget hotels are simpler, with smaller rooms and fewer facilities. Premium hotels add larger rooms, spa access and better dining. Child rates depend on age and bed type, and are confirmed at booking. You can compare other routes among our Germany tour packages before deciding.
When is the best time to visit Germany from India?
May and September are the most comfortable months for this route, with temperatures of roughly 10-21 C in May and 13-21 C in September, medium crowds and medium prices. Both suit young children and older travellers.
June to August is peak season, with warm 15-25 C days and long evenings, but queues at the park are longest and prices are at their peak. December is cold, at about -1 to 4 C, and Alpine and hill roads can be affected by snow. Spring and late autumn can bring rain. Seasonal figures here are as of 2026.
| Month group | Typical temperature | Crowds | Prices | Fit for this family trip |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| May | 10-21 C | Medium | Medium | Good: mild days, shorter queues |
| June to August | 15-25 C | High | Peak | Good weather, longest queues and highest cost |
| September | 13-21 C | Medium | Medium | Good: comfortable for elders |
| December | -1 to 4 C | Medium | Peak | Cold; only for families who want winter |
Visa, money and flights from India to Germany
Indian passport holders need a Schengen visa for Germany. The application route is explained in our Germany visa for Indians guide, and the current fee should be checked on the official portal. Apply early, since family files with children need extra documents.
The local currency is the euro, and cards are widely accepted, though small cafes and some park stalls prefer cash. Flights from major Indian cities to Frankfurt take roughly 17 to 19 hours including a connection, as of October 2026. Fares vary by season and are confirmed at booking.

CoupleNorway is expensive but the experience is worth planning for. We did the Flam Railway and the Sognefjord on Day 5. Tripstor gave us a realistic budget breakdown before we booked, which I appreciated. No surprises on the ground.
FriendsThree friends and I did a 9-night Australia package with stops in Melbourne and Sydney. We spent an afternoon at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and caught a local match. Tripstor sorted our group visa applications together which saved a lot of back and forth. Good experience overall.
FamilyTravelled with my parents who are in their late 50s. Tripstor recommended two full acclimatization days in Leh before any high-altitude drives and that made a real difference. Tso Moriri was quieter than Pangong and honestly more worth the drive.
