Mid-October to February is the most reliable window for this Andaman coast route. Rainfall is low in most of Thailand during this period, and the sea is calm enough for island day trips and snorkelling without weather cancellations.

February to mid-May is the hot season. April is Thailand's hottest month, so outdoor activity is more comfortable in the early morning and late afternoon. Mid-May to mid-October is the southwest monsoon — August and September are among the wettest months, and rough seas can close marine sites and Phi Phi day trips at short notice.
