Package overview
The thinking behind this journey.
A closer look at this 6-night journey through Seychelles— who it's built for, what you'll experience, and why the pace works.
Journey notes
Why this route works
What is a Seychelles family tour package?
A Seychelles family tour package is a fixed island itinerary with hotels, transfers, ferry tickets and activities arranged for mixed age groups. This one runs across two islands, Mahé and Praslin, to keep ferry and road time low.
You start on Mahé in the Beau Vallon area, then take the ferry of about 60 minutes to Praslin for the Vallée de Mai and Anse Lazio. The last two nights return to Mahé for a marine park day and a free afternoon before the flight home. The ferry timing comes from the standard inter-island schedule, and the exact departure is confirmed at booking.
Why this route works for families
This route works because every transfer is short and each day has one main activity, with the rest of the day left open. The Mahé to Praslin crossing is roughly an hour, and the Praslin to La Digue hop, if you add it later, is about 15 minutes.
- Short transfers: no day needs more than a half-hour road drive plus one ferry crossing on Days 4 and 6.
- One big stop a day: mornings carry the main visit, afternoons stay free for the pool, beach or a nap.
- Early dinners: meals are planned around children's bedtimes and grandparents' routines.
- Free afternoons: one open afternoon every few days, so nobody runs on a fixed clock for a week.
Morne Seychellois and the Vallée de Mai
The two signature stops are Morne Seychellois National Park on Mahé and the Vallée de Mai on Praslin. Both are nature visits with short walking sections and rest points, not long hikes.
Morne Seychellois is a cooler, greener half-day if the coast feels too hot. The Vallée de Mai is a UNESCO World Heritage palm forest with coco de mer palms and Seychelles black parrots. It is open from 8:30am to 5pm, and most families remember it as the highlight of the week.
Best time to visit Seychelles from India
The driest months are May to September, with lower rainfall and stronger southeast trade winds. These are also peak-price months, and seas can turn choppy on south- and east-facing coasts.
April, October and November are generally calmer and relatively windless, which helps with snorkelling and boat rides, though November gets wetter. December to February is the main rainy period, with heavy showers and occasional cyclones, so keep buffer time if you travel then. Temperatures stay around 24-32°C all year.
| Period | Weather | What it means for families |
|---|---|---|
| May-September | Drier, cooler, windier | Easiest for outdoor days; peak prices; choppy seas on some coasts |
| April, October-November | Calmer, humid, rain moderate | Good for boat trips and snorkelling; November turns wetter |
| December-February | Hot, humid, heavy rain | Plans may shift; keep rain gear and spare time |
Seychelles trip cost and what drives it
The Rs.98,000 per person price covers land arrangements on twin sharing in a standard 3-4 star category. Flights, visa charges, insurance and personal expenses are not included.
| Stay tier | Indicative cost per person |
|---|---|
| Budget 3-star | Approx Rs.73,500 |
| Standard 4-star (this package) | Rs.98,000 |
| Premium 5-star | Approx Rs.1,57,000 |
Season and room type move the figure most. Peak months from May to August and December to February carry the highest rates. Confirm the final amount at booking, since ferry and park charges can be revised.
Kid and elder logistics
Children and grandparents travel comfortably here because seating, rooms and rest stops are planned in advance. Ask for these arrangements when you book.
- Vehicles: a private vehicle with child seats on request, and front-seat or easy-step seating for grandparents. Confirm at booking.
- Rooms: family rooms or two adjoining rooms, depending on hotel availability.
- Strollers and wheelchairs: Beau Vallon beachfront and Victoria's centre are mostly flat. Forest paths in the Vallée de Mai and Morne Seychellois have uneven sections, so a carrier suits toddlers better than a stroller.
- Rest stops: viewpoint and shade breaks are built into the longer drives, with water and snacks carried in the vehicle.
Highlights by age group
Each age group gets at least one activity pitched at its pace, so nobody waits around for the others.
Younger children
- Shallow swimming and sand play at Beau Vallon and Anse Lazio
- Giant tortoises at Moyenne Island, available as an optional add-on
- Snorkelling stops and a beach lunch on the St. Anne Marine National Park reef safari
Teenagers
- Snorkelling at the marine park
- Paddle sports at Beau Vallon, subject to conditions on the day
- The forest walk at Morne Seychellois
Grandparents
- Victoria's market, Mahé Botanical Gardens and the National Museum of History at an easy pace
- The coastal drive on Mahé with viewpoint stops
- Shaded time at the Vallée de Mai, with seating breaks
Pace, rest and daily rhythm
The daily rhythm is a late-morning start, one main activity, a long lunch and an open afternoon. Active windows run roughly 9am to noon, with rest between 1pm and 4pm when the heat peaks.
No road drive is longer than about 30 minutes, which most children handle without trouble. Ferry days, Day 4 and Day 6, are the busiest, so these have the lightest afternoons. Heat and humidity stay high through the year, so carry water on every outing.
Rooms, meals and comfort
Hotels in this category usually offer family rooms or connecting rooms on request. Availability is limited in peak months, so ask for your room type at the time of booking.
Vegetarian dishes such as pasta, rice, curries and salads are available at most hotels. Jain meals without onion and garlic need a prior request, so tell us before travel. Child-friendly food like plain rice, fries, pasta and fruit is easy to get. Carry dry snacks for ferry days and excursion mornings.
Travelling with kids and elders: five practical tips
- Sun and heat: temperatures hover at 24-32°C all year. Use hats, light cotton clothing and reef-safe sunscreen.
- Rain gear: pack light rain jackets, especially from November to April.
- Sea conditions: southeast trade winds from May to October make some coasts rough. Follow lifeguard flags and hotel advice.
- Driving rules: traffic keeps left and roads can be narrow and steep. A car with a driver is easier than self-driving with children.
- ID and medicines: carry passports for every traveller, including infants, and prescription medicines in original packaging with a copy of the prescription.
Where you stay on Mahé and Praslin
This trip uses standard 3-4 star hotels in two beach areas: Beau Vallon on Mahé and the Côte d'Or or Baie Sainte Anne area on Praslin. Beau Vallon has restaurants and activities nearby, and Baie Sainte Anne is the main accommodation base on Praslin.
- Budget 3-star (approx Rs.73,500 per person): simpler rooms, hotel pool or beach access, fewer on-site facilities.
- Standard 4-star (Rs.98,000 per person, default): comfortable family-friendly rooms, on-site restaurant, pool or short walk to the beach.
- Premium 5-star (approx Rs.1,57,000 per person): larger rooms, more dining options, direct beachfront in most cases.
Hotel names are confirmed in your final voucher. Rates and room types change by season.
Visa, money and flights from India to Seychelles
Indian passport holders should apply through the official Seychelles immigration portal, so check the Seychelles visa for Indians guide for the current steps and check the official portal for the current fee. The local currency is the Seychelles rupee, and cards are widely accepted at hotels. We do not quote an exchange rate here, so check a current bank rate before you travel.
Flights to Mahé from major Indian cities usually connect through a Gulf or Indian Ocean hub, with total travel time depending on the layover. Fares and airlines vary by date, so confirm at booking. You can compare other island combinations on our Seychelles tour packages page.

FamilyBooked a family package for 7 nights covering Port Blair, Havelock, and Neil. The Cellular Jail light and sound show on Day 1 set a good tone for the trip. Kids were engaged throughout and the itinerary was not too rushed.
CoupleNorway is expensive but the experience is worth planning for. We did the Flam Railway and the Sognefjord on Day 5. Tripstor gave us a realistic budget breakdown before we booked, which I appreciated. No surprises on the ground.
HoneymoonHoneymooned in Kashmir for 7 nights in May. Gulmarg had light snow still and we got a gondola ride on Day 4. The tulip garden in Srinagar was in full bloom. Tripstor arranged a candlelit dinner on the houseboat which was a nice touch.
