Journey notes
Why this route works
Why does this itinerary fit travellers from Delhi?
This 5-night Maldives honeymoon package suits Delhi travellers because direct and one-stop flights from Indira Gandhi International Airport reach Malé in roughly 4 to 5 hours. Visa on arrival removes paperwork, and the November-to-April season aligns with Delhi's cooler, drier months when couples prefer to travel.
Indira Gandhi International Airport is Delhi's primary international departure point, with scheduled services to Velana International Airport in Malé. The flight duration from Delhi to Malé averages 4.5 hours on a direct service. Couples departing Delhi in December or January benefit from both good Maldives weather and a break from Delhi's winter fog.
The package price starts at ₹95,000 per couple, covering flights, resort accommodation, and a half-board meal plan. Tripstor adjusts the resort tier and speedboat or seaplane transfer based on the selected island.
What experiences does this package include?
This honeymoon package includes overwater or beach villa accommodation, snorkelling on a house reef, a sunset cruise for two, a private candlelit dinner on the beach, and a guided dolphin-watching excursion from the resort.
- Overwater or beach villa stay at a 4-star or 5-star resort for 5 nights
- Snorkelling session on the resort's house reef with equipment provided
- Sunset dhoni cruise for two, lasting approximately 90 minutes
- Private candlelit beach dinner on one evening, included in the package
- Dolphin-watching boat excursion, typically departing at dusk
- Daily breakfast and dinner (half-board) at the resort restaurant
- Return speedboat or domestic flight transfer between Malé and the resort island
Who is this package best suited for?
This package is best suited for newly married couples or couples celebrating an anniversary, departing from Delhi. The itinerary is paced slowly, with no more than one organised activity per day, allowing couples to spend time at the resort at their own pace.
The package suits couples with a combined budget of ₹95,000 to ₹1,40,000, depending on resort category. Couples who prefer a beach villa over an overwater villa can request that adjustment at the time of booking. The itinerary does not include group tours, so the experience remains private throughout.
How do the days unfold on this trip?
Day 1: Delhi Departure and Malé Arrival
Velana International Airport is the main entry point for the Maldives, located on Hulhulé Island near the capital Malé. Travellers depart Delhi, arrive in Malé, and transfer by speedboat or domestic flight to the resort island.
Day 2: Resort Check-In and House Reef Snorkelling
The house reef is a coral reef located directly off the resort's shoreline, accessible without a boat. Couples check in, settle into their villa, and snorkel the house reef in the afternoon.
Day 3: Sunset Dhoni Cruise
A dhoni is a traditional Maldivian wooden boat used for leisure cruises and fishing trips. Couples board the dhoni at sunset for a 90-minute cruise, with soft drinks served on board.
Day 4: Dolphin Watching and Free Day
The dolphin-watching excursion departs from the resort jetty at dusk, when spinner dolphins are most active near the atolls. The morning and afternoon remain free for spa, water sports, or rest.
Day 5: Private Beach Dinner
The private beach dinner is a pre-arranged meal set up on the resort's shoreline, separate from the main restaurant. Couples dine on the beach on their final full evening at the resort.
Day 6: Check-Out and Return to Delhi
Check-out at most Maldives resorts is at 12:00 noon, with transfer to Malé timed to the return flight. Travellers arrive back in Delhi the same evening or the following morning, depending on the flight schedule.
What should you know before booking?
Indian travellers receive a Maldives visa on arrival, valid for 30 days, at no charge. Travellers need a valid Indian passport, a confirmed resort booking, and proof of onward travel. No visa fee applies at the time of entry.
The Maldives uses the US dollar as the standard currency for resort transactions, though Indian rupees are not widely accepted at resorts. Carrying a Forex card or international debit card is advisable. Most resorts charge a Green Tax of USD 6 per person per night, which may not be included in the package price. Tripstor confirms all inclusions and taxes in the final booking document before payment.
