The thinking behind this journey.
A closer look at this 5-night journey through Lakshadweep— who it's built for, what you'll experience, and why the pace works.
Journey notes
Why this route works
What is a Lakshadweep honeymoon route built around Agatti and Bangaram?
It is a five-night island plan that splits time between Agatti, where the airport and lagoon-side stays are, and Bangaram, a quieter atoll island with lagoon water sports. You get two island moods without a long transfer between them.
Agatti is the practical start and finish. Bangaram sits in the middle of the trip, when couples usually want the most privacy. Mornings are for the lagoon, afternoons are left open, and sunsets are fixed in the plan. Nothing is packed back-to-back.
Why this suits couples
This route suits couples because the islands are small, uncrowded and slow by design. There are no road transfers, no sightseeing circuits and no early alarms unless you ask for them.
- Privacy: Bangaram is a small island reached by boat, so the lagoon and shoreline stay quiet for most of the day.
- Setting: Agatti lagoon is shallow enough for snorkelling and glass-bottom boat rides, and the day boat to Kalpitti Island gives you a sandbar walk without a crowd.
- Pace: Two full lagoon days and two sunset evenings are the only fixed points. The rest is yours to use or ignore.
Romantic highlights on this route
Six named experiences anchor the trip, each tied to a specific island and time of day.
- Agatti sunset viewpoint: Day 1 evening, an easy first sunset after you land, with no activity booked around it.
- Glass-bottom boat ride in Agatti lagoon: Day 2 morning, a 60-minute ride that shows the coral from above without getting wet.
- Kalpitti Island boat trip: Day 2 afternoon, a short boat ride from Agatti to walk the sandbar and swim in the shallows.
- Boat transfer to Bangaram: Day 3, a morning crossing that doubles as a quiet scenic hour together.
- Private beach dinner on Bangaram: Day 4 evening, an optional table on the sand, to be confirmed at booking.
- Lagoon kayaking: Day 5 afternoon on Agatti, a double kayak for 30 minutes if you want something active before the last sunset.
Moments to plan around
Four moments are worth fixing in advance, because each works best on a particular day of the route.
- First sunset: Day 1 at Agatti. You land tired, so keep it to a walk and dinner.
- First lagoon morning: Day 2. Calm water and soft light make this the best snorkelling slot of the trip.
- Private dinner: Day 4 on Bangaram, when you have had a full day on the island and nothing is scheduled after lunch.
- Last sunset: Day 5 at Agatti, before packing and the early departure on Day 6.
How the days flow
Days start late and finish early, because the sea and the light set the rhythm. Breakfast is unhurried, activities sit in the morning, and from about noon to late afternoon the plan is deliberately blank.
Two days involve a boat transfer: Day 3 to Bangaram and Day 5 back to Agatti. Boat timings decide the exact order of the middle nights, so the final sequence is confirmed at booking. Sunsets are the only fixed evening slots. Dinners are at your stay unless you add a private setup.
Choosing the right stay style for a couple
Pick the stay by setting and access, not by star rating alone. For couples, the things that change the trip are a lagoon or beach view, how far the room is from the water, and how private the walkway to the shore feels.
- Lagoon-side or beach-side room: worth the small premium, because you step from the room to the water.
- Cottage-style stay: gives more privacy than a corridor room in a block.
- Distance from the jetty: matters on boat-transfer days, when you carry luggage in the morning.
Stay properties are allotted through the authorised tourism operator, so we describe the category and confirm the exact property at booking.
Best months for a couple's trip to Lakshadweep
October to May is the dry season and the right window for this trip. November to March is the most comfortable, with temperatures around 22-32 C and low rain.
| Months | Typical temperature | Rain | What it means for a honeymoon |
|---|---|---|---|
| November to March | 22-32 C | Low | Calmest seas, best lagoon days, peak crowds and prices |
| April and May | 25-35 C | Low | Hotter afternoons, medium crowds, swimmable sea |
| June to September | 26-35 C | Heavy to moderate | Southwest monsoon, rough seas, ship-based tourism closed |
| October | 27-32 C | Moderate | Workable shoulder month with medium crowds |
According to the official Lakshadweep tourism information, rainfall rises and sea and transport conditions can worsen from June to September. We do not recommend that window for a honeymoon.
Add-ons worth considering
Four add-ons change the trip in a real way. Each is optional and priced separately, and all are confirmed at booking.
- Private beach dinner: best on Day 4 at Bangaram, when the evening is empty.
- Scuba diving: published rate is about INR 3,500 for 45 minutes. It fits best on Day 4, with a full free day around it.
- Photographer: useful on Day 2 at the lagoon or Day 3 on the Bangaram shoreline, in morning or late-afternoon light.
- Extra kayak or snorkel session: published rates are about INR 800 per person for 30 minutes of snorkelling, and INR 800 for a double kayak for 30 minutes.
A glass-bottom boat ride is listed at about INR 1,500 per person for 60 minutes, subject to a minimum of four people, so ask us how it works for a couple. Rates are as published by local operators in November 2025 and can change.
What the stay options cost for two
The stay on this trip is a standard 3-4 star island category, and the price changes with the stay tier. The figures below are indicative, per person, land only, on twin sharing.
| Stay tier | Indicative price per person | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| Budget 3-star | Approx. Rs.38,000 | Simpler rooms, fewer lagoon-facing options |
| Standard 4-star (this package) | Rs.50,500 | Island stay in a standard 3-4 star category, as per the itinerary |
| Premium 5-star | Approx. Rs.81,000 | Better room position, more privacy, higher service level |
The price is per person, so double it for two travellers and add flights, which are not included. As per a travel report, Bangaram and Agatti beach-resort stays sit at the higher end of Lakshadweep package pricing, which is why the standard tier here is a middle option. Confirm current prices at booking.
Getting to Agatti and what to know before you go
Agatti Airport (AGX) is reached by air from Kochi, and onward air connections from Kochi are available to most airports in India. Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Pune travellers connect via Kochi, as per the official Lakshadweep tourism information. One source reports daily flights from Bengaluru to the islands.
Entry to Lakshadweep needs a permit, which we arrange through the authorised tourism operator. The earlier requirement for a local sponsor and a police clearance certificate was removed in May 2026, and group applications of up to six people were introduced. Permit fees are part of the package cost, but no separate amount is published, so confirm at booking.
Mobile and internet coverage is patchy across the islands, so treat the trip as mostly offline. Book flights early, because fares vary with season and how close you book. One-way flight fares to the islands were reported at Rs 8,000-18,000 as of July 2026. For other island options, see our Lakshadweep tour packages.
Food and dietary notes for the two of you
Food on the islands is Kerala-influenced, built around fish, coconut and rice. Vegetarian dishes such as dal, rice, vegetable kurma, breadfruit curry and a vegetarian thali are available, but choices can be limited on smaller islands.
Pork and alcohol are minimal or absent on most inhabited islands. If either of you is vegetarian, or needs meals without fish stock, tell us before travel so it can be passed to the stay in advance.
