Package overview
The thinking behind this journey.
A closer look at this 6-night journey through Hong Kong— who it's built for, what you'll experience, and why the pace works.
Journey notes
Why this route works
What is included in this Hong Kong family holiday?
The package covers 6 nights in standard 3-4 star hotels on twin sharing, daily breakfast, private transfers and one-day entry to both Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park Hong Kong. The plan spends two nights on Lantau Island and four in Kowloon, so park days are short rides and city days stay close to the MTR.
Airport transfers and the move between Lantau and Kowloon are by private vehicle. Local sightseeing uses the MTR and the Star Ferry, which children usually enjoy more than a coach. Each traveller gets an Octopus card, the stored-value card accepted on the MTR, buses and trams. Anything we cannot confirm today, such as exact ticket type or hotel name, is stated as to be confirmed at booking.

Why does this route suit Indian families with children and grandparents?
Hong Kong is compact and the MTR covers most of what a family wants to see, so no single transfer is long. That matters when you are travelling with a five-year-old or a parent who tires easily.
The two theme-park days are spaced apart with a rest morning between them. Evenings end early on most days, which keeps jet lag and crankiness under control.
Food is manageable too. Hotel breakfasts usually offer vegetarian items, and Indian restaurants operate around Tsim Sha Tsui and Jordan. Jain meals need advance notice, so mention them at booking.
When is the best time to visit Hong Kong from India?
November to February is the most comfortable stretch for a family trip. According to the Hong Kong Observatory, November runs at 20-28°C with low rain, December is sunny and dry at 10-20°C, and January and February stay cool at 10-20°C with low rain.
October is also workable at 20-28°C with moderate rain. March and April are mild at 15-25°C, but rain builds towards May. June to August is hot and humid at 25-33°C with heavy rain, and about 80% of annual rainfall falls between May and September.
Tropical cyclone conditions can affect Hong Kong from June into October or later, so add travel insurance for any monsoon-season booking. Pack a light jacket for January and February, when cold fronts can pass through.
How much does a Hong Kong trip cost for a family?
The listed price is Rs.44,500 per person, land only, on twin sharing in a standard 3-4 star hotel. Flights are separate. Price tiers below are indicative and per person; confirm at booking.
| Stay level | Indicative price per person |
|---|---|
| Budget 3-star | About Rs.33,500 |
| Standard 4-star (default) | Rs.44,500 |
| Premium 5-star | About Rs.71,000 |
Hotel class is the biggest cost driver. Others are the travel dates, whether transfers are private or shared, and optional add-ons such as Ngong Ping 360 on Lantau Island. Airfare from India changes with season and how early you book.
How do the days flow for children and grandparents?
Each park day is followed by a slow morning or a free afternoon. Day 2 is Hong Kong Disneyland, Day 3 starts late and moves to Kowloon, Day 4 has one outing and then free time, and Day 5 is Ocean Park Hong Kong.
Day 6 is deliberately light, with market time in Mong Kok and a harbour evening. Day 7 is checkout and departure. Pace can be adjusted at booking if grandparents prefer fewer outings or younger children need earlier nights.
Kid and elder logistics on the ground
Most movement is by private vehicle between the airport and hotels, and by MTR or ferry within the city. Both theme parks are built for strollers and wheelchairs, with rental options on site. Confirm rental details with the park at booking.
- Seating: request a vehicle with a child seat if a toddler is travelling. Mention it at booking, as it is to be confirmed.
- Rest stops: the longest drive is the Lantau to Kowloon transfer, which fits in a morning with a stop if needed.
- Lifts and escalators are common at MTR stations. Ask for a step-free route if a wheelchair is in use.
- Snacks and water: carry both on park days and on the Peak outing.

Five tips for travelling to Hong Kong with kids and elders
- Check passport validity and carry age proof for children, as park and transport concessions can depend on age.
- Carry regular medicines with a prescription copy. Pharmacies are common in Tsim Sha Tsui, Mong Kok and Causeway Bay.
- Pack for weather: a light rain jacket from May to September, a warm layer for December to February.
- Use the Octopus card on the MTR, buses and trams instead of buying single tickets. Adult MTR fares in the urban network run HKD 3.60-52.60 as of September 2026.
- Check live waiting times for major attractions on the Hong Kong Tourism Board information page before heading out.
Where do families stay on a Hong Kong Disneyland trip?
This trip uses two bases: Lantau Island for the Disneyland days, and Tsim Sha Tsui in Kowloon for the rest. Lantau Island suits trips centred on the park and is also where the airport sits. Tsim Sha Tsui offers harbour views, the Star Ferry and major MTR stations.
Hotel names are confirmed at booking, and stays are standard 3-4 star by default. Indicative tiers:
- Budget 3-star, about Rs.33,500 per person: compact rooms, basic breakfast, good for families who spend most of the day out.
- Standard 4-star, Rs.44,500 per person: the default for this trip, with more room space and a wider breakfast spread.
- Premium 5-star, about Rs.71,000 per person: larger rooms, better facilities and, in some cases, harbour or resort views.

HoneymoonHoneymooned in Kashmir for 7 nights in May. Gulmarg had light snow still and we got a gondola ride on Day 4. The tulip garden in Srinagar was in full bloom. Tripstor arranged a candlelit dinner on the houseboat which was a nice touch.
FamilyBooked a family package for 7 nights covering Port Blair, Havelock, and Neil. The Cellular Jail light and sound show on Day 1 set a good tone for the trip. Kids were engaged throughout and the itinerary was not too rushed.
FamilyTravelled with my parents who are in their late 50s. Tripstor recommended two full acclimatization days in Leh before any high-altitude drives and that made a real difference. Tso Moriri was quieter than Pangong and honestly more worth the drive.
