Journey notes
Why this route works
What is a Goa honeymoon package?
A Goa honeymoon package is a ready-planned domestic trip for couples covering stays, local transfers and a few paced activities. It is usually priced per person on twin sharing, with flights bought separately. This version splits Goa across two bases, one in the south and one in the north.
Why this route splits Palolem and Candolim
Palolem and Candolim offer two different moods, so the route uses both. Most Goa itineraries settle on one coast; this one moves once, on Day 3, and keeps the rest unhurried.
- Palolem (South Goa): a relatively serene beach, with Agonda a short drive away for a second quiet stretch of sand.
- Candolim (North Goa): quieter than Baga, with upscale hotels and easy access to Fort Aguada and Sinquerim.
Moments to plan around
Four moments are worth fixing in advance, because each works best on a particular day of the route.
- First evening walk on Palolem (Day 1): arrive, check in and walk the shoreline before dinner. This sets the pace for the trip.
- Agonda sunset (Day 2): a relaxed South Goa beach, reached by a short drive from Palolem. Stay for the light.
- Fort Aguada at dusk (Day 3): the Portuguese-era fort overlooks the Arabian Sea and Sinquerim Beach. Go in the late afternoon, not midday.
- Sunset dinner for two (Day 3): held after the fort visit. The venue is to be confirmed at booking.
Why this suits couples
This route suits couples because it is private, unscheduled and spread across two quieter beach areas. There is no group timetable, and one car stays with you for transfers and the sightseeing half-day.
- Privacy: twin-sharing rooms, a private car and no shared tours.
- Setting: Palolem and Agonda in the south, Candolim in the north, all away from the Baga and Calangute crowds.
- Pace: at most one planned activity a day, with evenings kept for sunsets.
Romantic highlights
Six experiences carry the romance on this route. Each is simple and tied to a real place.
- A barefoot shoreline walk on Palolem Beach at the end of Day 1.
- Beach hopping from Palolem to Agonda, both described as relaxed South Goa beaches.
- A fish curry rice dinner, a Goan staple, on a beachfront terrace in Palolem.
- Sunset at Fort Aguada, looking over the sea towards Sinquerim.
- An included sunset dinner for two in Candolim.
- A visit to Reis Magos Fort, a quieter heritage stop overlooking the Mandovi River.
How the days flow
Days start late and end at sunset. Breakfast is at the hotel, mornings are mostly free, and the one planned activity sits in the afternoon or evening.
Day 1 is arrival and a drive south. Day 2 stays local, with Palolem and Agonda. Day 3 is the transfer north, check-in, rest and Fort Aguada. Day 4 is a half-day of North Goa sightseeing with an open evening. Day 5 is checkout and the airport. Keep one evening unplanned for a swim, a spa visit or an early night.
Choosing the right stay style
For couples, the stay matters most in three ways: how close the beach is, how private the room feels, and how easy it is to reach dinner. This package uses standard 3-4 star hotels, so choose on setting rather than facilities.
- Palolem: a beach-side hotel within walking distance of the sand makes evening walks easy.
- Candolim: a hotel with a pool and a short cab ride to Fort Aguada works well for the north leg.
- Room type: ask for a higher floor or garden-facing room for quiet. Sea-view rooms depend on availability and may cost extra, so confirm at booking.
Best months for a couple's trip
November to February is the best window for a Goa honeymoon, with mostly dry weather and temperatures of 25-27 C. It is also the peak season, so prices are at their highest. As of 2026 seasonal data, the other months compare as follows.
| Months | Weather | Crowds and prices | Fit for this trip |
|---|---|---|---|
| November to February | Dry, 25-27 C, little or no rain | High crowds, peak prices | Best weather; book early |
| March to May | Hotter and more humid, 27-30 C | Lower crowds, lower prices | Good value; plan pool and indoor time at midday |
| June to September | Heavy monsoon rain, rough seas | Few visitors, some beach shacks closed | Not recommended for a beach honeymoon |
| October | Rain easing, 27 C | Medium crowds and prices | Facilities reopening; check conditions |
Add-ons worth considering
Four add-ons fit a honeymoon here. All are optional and priced separately, so confirm costs at booking.
- Spa or Ayurveda session: Goa has wellness resorts and centres offering Ayurveda. Best on Day 4, after the Candolim transfer.
- Private beach dinner: a table arranged on the sand. Best on Day 2 in Palolem or Day 4 in Candolim.
- Photographer: a short session at Fort Aguada or Palolem at golden hour. Best on Day 3.
- Mandovi sunset cruise: a relaxed evening on the river. Best on Day 4.
Where you will stay: Palolem beach hotels and Candolim resorts
This package uses standard 3-4 star hotels, two nights in Palolem and two in Candolim. Palolem is listed among Goa's peaceful southern beach areas, and Candolim is known for upscale hotels and access to Fort Aguada. No hotel brand is named here; the exact properties are confirmed at booking.
| Stay tier (indicative, per person) | Approx. price | What it generally means |
|---|---|---|
| Budget 3-star | Approx. Rs.11,000 | Simple rooms, a short walk or ride to the beach |
| Standard 3-4 star (this package) | Rs.14,500 | Comfortable rooms, breakfast, often a pool in Candolim |
| Premium 5-star | Approx. Rs.23,000 | Larger rooms, better views, more on-site dining |
The Rs.14,500 figure is land only, twin sharing, flights excluded. Tiers are indicative and depend on dates, with December and January costing most. For other routes and price bands, see our Goa tour packages.
Getting to Goa and moving between Palolem and Candolim
Goa is reached by air, rail and road. Dabolim Airport (GOI) is the main airport, and prepaid taxis and Goa Miles cabs operate outside it. This package includes a private car for airport transfers and the Palolem to Candolim drive.
Rail access includes Madgaon station, and national highways connect Goa with the rest of India. Delhi to Goa is about 2 hours 35 minutes by air, and Mumbai to Goa is about 1.5 hours. No permit or entry fee is needed for beaches. Mobile connectivity is generally available in the main beach areas, but confirm at booking if you need it in quieter stretches. Narrow village lanes need care if you self-drive, so a private car is the easier choice.
Goa trip cost and travel tips for couples
The listed price is Rs.14,500 per person on twin sharing, before flights. Hotel category, travel dates and add-ons move the final cost for two, so confirm current prices at booking. Peak dates cost more than April or May.
- Book sunset dinners a day ahead in peak season.
- Keep one buffer evening free for a spontaneous plan.
- Carry light cotton for the day and a thin layer for breezy evenings.
- Scooters suit only licensed riders comfortable with local traffic; cabs are easier for two.
- Check sea conditions before swimming, especially outside the dry months.
Share your dates and the moments that matter most; we will adjust the pace and stays to match.

HoneymoonHoneymooned in Kashmir for 7 nights in May. Gulmarg had light snow still and we got a gondola ride on Day 4. The tulip garden in Srinagar was in full bloom. Tripstor arranged a candlelit dinner on the houseboat which was a nice touch.
