Journey notes
Why this route works
What a France family package covers
This trip covers two days at Disneyland Paris, a full day at Versailles and the main Paris sights, all from a single hotel for eight nights. Mornings start around 8:30 am and most evenings end with dinner by 7:30 pm, so the pace suits a stroller or a walking stick.
Paris is the base because it is France's main international gateway and the simplest city to manage with three generations. The metro, buses and walking routes connect museums, gardens and markets without long road journeys. Families who want more of the country later can look at our France tour packages for the Loire Valley, Provence and the Riviera as separate trips.
Kid and elder logistics
Hotel rooms, vehicle seats and rest stops are planned around the slowest walker in the group. Transfers to Disneyland Paris and Versailles are short, usually about an hour from central Paris, so nobody sits through a long drive.
- Vehicles: air-conditioned coach or car, with child seats on request (to be confirmed at booking).
- Strollers: the Paris metro has many stairs and few lifts, so a light folding stroller works best. Disneyland Paris and Versailles are mostly stroller-friendly.
- Wheelchairs: tell us at booking so we can plan lift-equipped routes and accessible entry points.
- Rest stops: benches in the Tuileries Garden, Versailles gardens and Disneyland Paris give regular sitting breaks.
- Snacks: keep fruit, biscuits and water in the day bag, since park queues and palace corridors run long.
Why this route works for families
Disneyland Paris and Versailles sit on opposite sides of the city, each within roughly an hour of central Paris by train or coach. There are no hotel changes and no long drives, so children get their park days early and grandparents get unhurried garden time later.
Shared activities help too. The Seine cruise, the Tuileries Garden and the Versailles grounds suit all ages together, while the parks let children run ahead with parents. Food is easier than most families expect. Large French supermarkets stock marked vegetarian ranges and halal counters are common in bigger cities. Most restaurants will serve plain pasta, rice or an omelette for children.
Highlights by age group
Each age group gets its own high point, so nobody spends the trip waiting for someone else's turn.
Younger children
- Fantasyland and Adventureland rides at Disneyland Paris.
- Character meeting spots and the afternoon parade.
- Open-deck seats on the Seine cruise.
- Running space in the Tuileries Garden.
Teenagers
- Faster rides and shows at Disneyland Paris.
- The Eiffel Tower photo stop and Montmartre.
- A short, focused visit to the Louvre.
- Free time at a local market on the free day.
Grandparents
- Unhurried garden walks at Versailles, with a garden cart or mini-train where available (pay on site).
- The Hall of Mirrors and State Apartments with timed entry.
- The Sacre-Coeur area using the funicular instead of the staircase.
- Quiet cafe breaks and an early dinner every evening.
Pace, rest and logistics
The daily rhythm is one main activity in the morning, lunch and a rest window, then a lighter afternoon and dinner by 7:30 pm. Park days are the longest, and the free morning on Day 6 and the full free day on Day 8 give the group time to recover.
Disneyland Paris and Versailles are each about an hour from the hotel, which children handle comfortably. Day 1 is kept light for jet lag, and the metro is used only for short hops. Keep a folding stroller or a lightweight seat stick handy for long queues. Read the best time to visit France guide before fixing dates, especially with grandparents travelling.
Rooms, meals and comfort
The package uses a standard 3-4 star hotel in the Paris area, twin sharing. Family rooms and connecting rooms are limited in French hotels, so share your group size early and we will confirm what is available at booking.
Breakfast is included daily, with bread, fruit, yoghurt, eggs and cereal. Vegetarian dishes are easy to find in Paris, and halal counters are common in bigger cities. Jain food is harder because onion and garlic are common, so plan carry-along snacks. Children can usually get plain pasta, rice or an omelette at most restaurants.
Travelling with kids and elders: five tips
- Carry travel insurance papers, passports, visa copies and prescriptions in one folder in your day bag, not in checked luggage.
- Pack layers. Paris stays mild in April to June and September to October at roughly 7 C to 21 C, and rain is possible in any month.
- Book Disneyland Paris and Versailles entry online before you fly, since walk-up queues in peak season can run long.
- Buy a carnet of 10 metro tickets or a Navigo Decouverte weekly card if you will use the Paris metro often. As of March 2026, a single Paris t+ ticket costs about EUR 2.15 and a 10-ticket carnet about EUR 17.
- Carry each child's passport and keep their age proof handy, since park and transport tickets are priced by age band.
Where you will stay in Paris
This trip keeps the whole family in one Paris-area hotel for eight nights, which saves repacking and keeps transfers short. Paris is the capital region and main rail hub, so museums, parks and the airport are all easy to reach.
Indicative per-person price tiers for context are below, based on the listed price.
- Budget 3-star, approx Rs.55,000: compact rooms, basic breakfast and a slightly longer walk to the metro.
- Standard 3-4 star, Rs.73,500 (this package): comfortable rooms, a hotel breakfast and a position close to a metro or train line.
- Premium 5-star, approx Rs.1,17,500: larger rooms, more central locations and fuller facilities.
What this trip costs also depends on dates. Rates rise in July, August and during Indian school holidays, and booking three to four months ahead usually gives better room choice for families of four or five. Flights, the France visa fee, travel insurance and most lunches and dinners are extra.
France entry, money and flights from India
Indian passport holders need a Schengen visa for France, applied for through the official France visa route, and the guide at France visa for Indians explains the steps. Check the official portal for the current fee, as it is not listed in this package. The currency is the euro, so carry a forex card and some cash, and confirm the exchange rate at booking. Flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and other major Indian cities to Paris take about 17 to 19 hours with a stop, as of October 2026. Fares vary by season, so confirm at booking.

FriendsThree friends and I did a 9-night Australia package with stops in Melbourne and Sydney. We spent an afternoon at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and caught a local match. Tripstor sorted our group visa applications together which saved a lot of back and forth. Good experience overall.
